Maryland Marriage License
The Maryland marriage license is controlled by county. Therefore, you have to apply for your marriage license in person and in the county or city in which your marriage will be held.
Marriage license proxy service is not available in Maryland.

Waiting Period: 48 hour
Valid: 6 months (therefore, you have to marry within 6 months after issued)

After the wedding, you will receive the certificate copy from your package. This document will have a raised county seal on it. However, you will have to obtain a certified copy of it to change your name at the Department of Motor Vehicle, Social Security, and on your job. For a certified copy you must submit a request to the county or city where the marriage certificate was drawn.
Same sex marriages are allowed, and there are no residency requirements.
Cousin marriages are permitted.
You must be 18 years old to marry without parental consent.
